2009 - Last Year

EOY is an annual Japanese cross-cultural event that showcases the talents of individuals in the community, featuring areas such as:

  • Cosplay
  • Anime
  • Comics, Art & Photography
  • Gothic, Lolita & Punk Fashion
  • Vocals & Dance

The primary focus of EOY has always been cosplay, and for many years, EOY has always been a "fans for fans" event, and it will continue to remain so for EOY 2009.

It is also a time of celebration for each end of the year, as well as the beginning of the next.

More than just showcasing talents, it is also a great event whereby like-minded individuals can build strong relationships with one another.

We hope that EOY will be an arts platform where people who love Japanese culture are able to express themselves in their costume designs, singing, drawing and whatever talents they might have.

"Keeping every person's dream and creativity alive..."
I pray that all of us will never lose sight of what we love, and pursue our dreams and always have the courage to boldly express ourselves, even when it may seem inconvenient or impractical. We only have one life, and I always believe that we should always live it to the fullest.

Unlike the earlier EOY's, EOY2009 is simply run by it's own staff and organizing team. As it is a fresh reorganization, EOY has become a new entity by itself, with staff to help in organization the entire event. We also work together with external entities, clubs and other organizations to form together an organizing team for EOY2009 to run smoothly.

The former STAC members and ourselves would like to reiterate that EOY2009 serves no affiliation to them in any kind. They wish us the best and support us for this event, but prefer not to be confused with the new organization.

The entire project will be lead by myself (Tim), and work has already started. I will be involved in organization and putting together different entities for EOY2009.

If you are interested in helping and/or participating in EOY2009, whether as a performer, an exhibitor, a sponsor, or you would just to help in logistics/administration, please feel free to contact us.

With everyone's help and participation, I'm sure 2009 will be a great one.

Pre 2009
The earlier EOY's were organized by Shiro Tsubasa Animation Club (STAC). The club no longer exists at this point of time, but they have done an extremely successful job in organizing many EOY's in the previous years.

I want to thank two people whom I have worked with personally that made EOY so memorable: Leo & Ariki. I also want to thank Kheldar and the rest of the STAC members for giving us the chance to run EOY2009.

To all the former STAC members, we hope that you will be able to come for EOY2009.
